Marion Spooktacular 2026

Haunted History Tours at Oak Shade Cemetery

This Halloween, step into Marion’s past and discover the stories of the people who helped shape our community.

The Marion Spooktacular is taking a new form this year. Due to student availability, our planned live ghost performances will be replaced with a self-guided audio tour through the historic section of Oak Shade Cemetery.

Using a printed map with scannable QR codes, visitors can listen to the stories of real people buried in the cemetery and explore their lives, legacies, and the history left behind. The tour features the same historical figures originally planned for the event, offering a closer look at Marion’s past.

Take your time, follow the map, and discover the faces and stories that might otherwise be lost to time.

Tour maps will be available beginning October 30 at the Marion Heritage Center and Museum and the Marion Chamber of Commerce.

The tour is free to enjoy. Donations to support the Marion Heritage Center and Museum are encouraged.

Oak Shade Cemetery is open during daylight hours. Visitors can explore the self-guided audio tour at their own pace. The route follows existing paths through the historic section of the cemetery.
