“Through the Needle’s Eye” To Be Viewed in Marion
The Marion Heritage Center & Museum and the Cedar Valley Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America, Inc. (EGA) will co-sponsor the 20th national exhibit, Through the Needle’s Eye.
This traveling juried exhibit will be on display from Saturday, August 6 to October 8 at the Marion Heritage Center and will feature more than 70 embroidered works of the highest quality design and craftsmanship from artists across the United States and Canada. Catalogs of the exhibit will be available at the Center for $25.
Cedar Rapids resident Sally Olsen, a member of the Cedar Valley Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild has three of her pieces accepted for display. Her work titled Celebrate Spring received the Virginia Miller Memorial Award.
In addition to the exhibit, the Cedar Valley Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild will offer Make-It-Take-It classes for children on three Saturdays – August 20, September 17, and October 1.
