The Marion Heritage Center & Museum and the Cedar Valley Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America, Inc. (EGA) will co-sponsor the 20th national exhibit, Through the Needle’s Eye.
This traveling juried exhibit will be on display from Saturday, August 6 to October 8 at the Marion Heritage Center and will feature more than 70 embroidered works of the highest quality design and craftsmanship from artists across the United States and Canada. Enthusiastic participants enjoyed a fantastic day at Marion’s third annual Quilt Walk on Saturday, August 22, 2015. The event featured 80 handcrafted quilts on display at Uptown Marion Businesses.
Congratulations, and a check for $75, was presented last week to the Heritage Center’s “Friends and Neighbors” art show winners on behalf of the sponsor, Hills Bank and Trust Company. Jane Woodhouse finished in first place, followed by newcomer, Judy Hansen. Gae Sharp Richardson and Barb Prall tied for third in the “People’s Choice” voting.Read More»
